  • Overview

    We are looking for software engineers with a passion for science and automation. The successful candidates will contribute to the design and development of software for high-throughput, laboratory instrumentation and device networks, as well as the design and development of tools for management and analysis of three-dimensional image data. We seek talented, creative and enthusiastic individuals who will contribute to the design and development of FISSEQ (Fluorescent in situ sequencing).

    Our software engineers will work with a collaborative multidisciplinary team on developing FISSEQ (Fluorescent in situ sequencing) Technology.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the R&D team to develop, test, and deploy new sequencing device software/hardware features
    • Develop and maintain test and analysis workflows to facilitate device software development
    • Contribute to the conceptualization and implementation of device and analytical user interfaces
    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of documentation systems
    • Participate in the implementation of real time image analysis and big data storage / transfer infrastructures

     

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 5 years experience
    • Strong interest in working at the interface of hardware and software
    • Practical experience contributing to application-scale software in a high-level programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python [preferred])
    • Experience working on UNIX-like operating systems (e.g., Linux) and with version control systems (e.g., git)

     

    Additional qualifications:

    • Interest in UI design / user experience development
    • Previous experience working with microcontrollers / embedded software (even in a hobbyist context)
    • Basic familiarity with and interest in human genetics, spatial visualization or digital cartography
    • Strong attention to detail / interest in maximizing software performance and robustness
