    ReadCoor, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic mechanical design engineer to assist with the development for our panomic spatial sequencing devices.  This is an opportunity to help develop and employ cutting edge technologies, from super resolution microscopy to sub-cellular molecular assays, to help solve some of biology’s greatest unanswered questions.     The ReadCoor R&D team is a dynamic group of engineers and biomedical scientists with deep experience in biotechnology platform development. Team members work cross-functionally to develop the foundational technologies behind our work on artificial neural networks, gene therapies, and emerging infectious disease detection. Your role will focus on the design, prototyping and manufacturing of enclosures for custom instrumentation and accessories. This will include providing engineering planning and support in order to ensure product quality, timeliness of R&D processes, and cost efficiency.



    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or a related field). Advanced degree is preferred.
    • A minimum of 2 years of product development engineering experience
    • A minimum of 2 years experience with SolidWorks (including the production of manufacturing and assembly drawings)
    • Experience in product design related to laboratory device or consumer product enclosure design/production
    • Experience designing low unit volume plastic and metal enclosures for consumer-facing electromechanical devices (e.g., biomedical assay platforms)
    • Experience working with multi-functional teams in an engineering/science environment required

    Nice to have:

    • Experience designing for plastic molding and/or forming
    • Rapid prototyping experience (e.g., SLA/FDM 3D printing, laser cutting)
    • Enclosure-centric electrical and optical sensor integration
    • Thermal management analysis for enclosure design (venting)
    • Experience designing for fluidic tubing and electrical cable harnessing and management
    • Mechanical, thermodynamic, and fluid dynamic modeling
