Overview

ReadCoor, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic electrical design engineer to assist with the development for our panomic spatial sequencing devices. This is an opportunity to help develop and employ cutting edge technologies, from super resolution microscopy to sub-cellular molecular assays, to help solve some of biology’s greatest unanswered questions. Responsibilities

 

The ReadCoor R&D team is a dynamic group of engineers and biomedical scientists with deep experience in biotechnology platform development. Team members work cross-functionally to develop the foundational technologies behind our work on artificial neural networks, gene therapies, and emerging infectious disease detection. Your role will focus on the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of PCBs for our custom instrumentation. You will also assist in the design and electromechanical integration of OEM electronics and systems. This is an opportunity to help lead the design of a unified ecosystem of embedded control systems and you will work closely with other team members on high-precision optical, motion control, and liquid handling systems.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Advanced degree in engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience with EAGLE and or Altium
  • Experience with circuit design and PCB layout for high speed digital and analog circuits
  • Experience designing and prototyping (i.e., reflow soldering) 2- and 4-layer PCBs with fine pitch surface mount components
  • Experience designing for and programming AVR and STM32 microcontrollers
  • Experience designing circuits and control loops to interface with embedded sensors, peltiers, solenoid valves, and stepper/servo motors
  • Experience working with multi-functional teams in an engineering/science environment required

Nice to have:

  • Experience designing communication protocols and/or interface APIs for embedded systems
  • Experience working with IoT devices and modern API interfaces (e.g., RESTful APIs)
  • Experience with the Python programming language
  • Experience selecting cabling and connectors (i.e., wire-to-wire and panel mount) based on application requirements
